2023-2024 CT COLT Teacher of the Year Announced!

It is our great honor to officially announce that Moussa Ly has been named the 2023-2024 CT COLT Language Teacher of the Year. Moussa, who is originally from Mauritania and Senegal, currently teaches French at South Windsor High School and serves as an Adjunct Professor in French Language and Literatures at Southern Connecticut State University. At South Windsor High School, Moussa serves as the advisor to the French Club, Muslim Club, and Dance Club. He also participates actively in a variety of language, cultural, and community organizations, including serving on the Board of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF). The Teacher of the Year Committee was moved by how he described "connection" at the heart of what he does, and essential to building trusting relationships that support language learning. Students and colleagues alike describe Moussa as a passionate and caring educator. In the words of one of his students, "There are some teachers who simply change your grade or knowledge of a subject - but there are some teachers who change your life; Mr. Ly is one of those teachers". CT COLT is thrilled to have Moussa represent us as our Language Teacher of the Year. Please join us in celebrating Moussa Ly as the CT COLT 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year!
