The CT COLT Student Awards for Excellence

The CT COLT Student Awards for Excellence for elementary school, middle school and high school students studying world languages in Connecticut schools.

The Irene Stanislawczyk Scholarship

The Irene Stanislawczyk Scholarship for an undergraduate student majoring in a world language and teacher education.

The Kenneth A. Lester Summer Immersion Scholarship

The Kenneth A. Lester Summer Immersion Scholarship for students in grades pre-K through 12th grade.

The CT COLT Future Teachers Honor Society

The CT COLT Future Teachers Honor Society for students at the college level.

The Paul M. St. Louis Scholarship

The Paul M. St. Louis Award was was established in memory of Paul M. St. Louis, CT COLT’s longtime Treasurer and to help defray college expenses for an undergraduate student majoring in French and teacher education.

Teacher Awards and Scholarships

In order to participate in awards and contests, teachers must be members of CT COLT.

The Pegasus PRIDE Award

The Pegasus PRIDE Award to recognize and highlight some of the many dedicated world language teachers represented by our member world language teachers.

The Service/Retirement Award

The Service/Retirement Award to recognize retiring world language teachers and those teachers with at least 25 years of service.

The Distinguished Service Award

The Distinguished Service Award is to recognize outstanding service to the organization.  This is awarded by the organization during the Fall Conference.

Leaders in Language Learning

The LILL Leadership Initiative for Language Learning was established by ACTFL in 2015.  Sending one Connecticut representative invests in the future leadership of the CT COLT.

The CT COLT Language Teacher of the Year

The CT COLT Language Teacher of the Year program is intended to elevate the status and the public profile of the language profession in the state of Connecticut.

The Helen Amaral Award

The Helen Amaral Award to help defray the cost of travel or study abroad in existing programs or one designed by the applicant.

The Robert G. Mead, Jr. Award

The Robert G. Mead, Jr. Award to help defray the cost of attending a national level conference focusing on teaching language and culture.

The Jane G. Graveen Award

The Jane G. Graveen Award to support the accomplishments of a FLES teacher by providing funding for the purchase of classroom materials.
